It started with a bin bag full of broken bears.
Our founder — a Dutch dad from Amsterdam — had spent years buying teddy bears for his kids. Premium ones, too. The kind with the fancy labels and the boutique price tags. €70 here. €90 there. And every single time, the same story: a few months of love, a couple of washes, and suddenly the bear was bald, misshapen, or falling apart at the seams.
He wasn't buying cheap supermarket bears. He was buying the good ones. And they still didn't last.
So he did what any stubborn Dutchman would do: he built his own.
What We Set Out to Build
TeddyChamps was founded on one simple idea — that a premium teddy bear should actually be premium. Not just in the shop. Not just on the shelf. But in the wash, in the hands of a toddler, and still sitting proudly on a shelf fifteen years later.
That meant going back to basics. Sourcing materials that could handle a 40° machine wash without losing their shape. Working with manufacturers who take safety seriously — not just the minimum standard, but hospital-grade certification. Using hypoallergenic fills that parents can trust. And getting the weight right — 700g of solid, huggable comfort that feels substantial in your arms.
